Aaron Alan, MFT, CSAT

Aaron Alan received his Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. His clinical work focuses on treating sex and love addiction, sexual compulsivity, chemical dependency, and working with couples. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Level 1 EMDR clinician and is a specialist in treating love addiction. He facilitates the Love Addiction Group and a Men's Sex Addiction Group at CHS. Aaron has worked extensively in addiction recovery and facilitated chemical dependency groups at the Thalians Mental Health Center at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles and at the Jeffrey Goodman Clinic in Hollywood. He has also treated serious and persistent mental illness at the Alcott Center for Mental Health. Jenner Bishop, MFT, CSAT

Jenner Bishop is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and Level 2 EMDR clinician. Ms. Bishop graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, and received her Masters Degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute. She has over 10 years experience working with addicts in recovery, and is particularly interested in the relationship between sexual acting-out and marijuana abuse. In addition, Ms. Bishop provides EMDR treatment as an ancillary service for patients with trauma history. Thuy Bui, CSAT

Thuy Bui is licensed psychotherapist and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Her clinical work focuses on holistic treatment of sex and love addiction, sexual trauma and abuse, and attachment disorders. Over the past decade, Thuy has worked successfully with children, adolescents and adults that have experienced sexual trauma and abuse in their life. She received extensive training through the Los Angeles County Medical Center, UCLA Rape Treatment Center, Los Angeles County Child Sexual Abuse Unit and Mindsight Institute. She currently serves as a doctoral research candidate at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA and the UCLA Department of Psychiatry. Her research interests include attachment disorders in hypersexual individuals, the neurobiology of addictions and the long term effects of emotional and physical pain on quality of life. Her clinical practice emphasizes the interface of human relationships and neurobiological processes and explores the power of mindfulness practices to promote well being and integrated living.

Christopher Donaghue, MSW

Christopher Donaghue received his Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work from Temple University in Philadelphia, is a California registered intern (ASW) and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Christopher is a Sexuality Specialist at the Center for Healthy Sex in Los Angeles and has extensive clinical experience working with adults in individual and group psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings and is the former Program Director at La Ventana Rehab's Sexual Addiction Program. His clinical specializations include the sexuality spectrum and addictive behaviors such as sexual compulsivity/sex addiction and substance abuse, as well as mood and relational intimacy disorders. Mark Friedes, MA

Mark Friedes received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles and has extensive clinical experience working with adults in individual, group, and couples modalities. He completed an extensive internship at AIDS Project Los Angeles where, in addition to working with HIV+ individuals and couples, he facilitated a drug and alcohol addiction group in an inpatient facility in Silverlake and an HIV+ support group for gay men. Mark has also completed an internship at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center in Hollywood where he gained additional experience working in addiction recovery with substance abusers and sex addicts. He continues to volunteer his time there, carries a small case load of indigent clients, and facilitates a group that focuses on the issues of sex and intimacy in gay men. These experiences have sparked his interest in the field of sexual addiction treatment, especially in regard to how the advent of cybersex has affected human sexual behavior in our culture. At CHS, Mark specializes in sexual addiction and co-facilitates a group of male sex addicts. Caroline Frost, M.A.

Caroline Frost, M.A,. graduated from Pepperdine University with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology. She spent three years working with a diverse range of individuals, couples, families, and children at the Southern California Counseling Center and ran a popular Women's Empowerment Group. She also served as Assistant Client Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator during her time at SCCC. When she is not at the Center for Healthy Sex she works in private practice with adults in their 20's and 30's who may be struggling with stage of life transitions, identity struggles, and creative issues. Caroline received her bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a Master of Professional Writing from the University of Southern California. She is also a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

Rebecca Ishida, MFT

Rebecca Ishida, M.A., MFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in the treatment of addiction (sex, food, chemicals) and co-dependency. She graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and from Pepperdine University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Her experience in the field is varied and she has treated depression, anxiety, grief and loss and relationship issues. Her clinical work began at the Gay and Lesbian Center in Hollywood and continued on at Kaiser Permanente where she facilitated chemical dependency groups. She saw a real need for treatment of sex addiction and saw that this addiction was often untreated in chemical dependency facilities. This caused her to seek out specialized training in sex addiction. Her approach to working with clients is a mixture between empathy and confrontation. Her goal is to form a solid relationship with her clients wherein they can truly and honestly move toward solid recovery. Rebecca has run groups for almost a decade. She also co-directed the partners’ group and ran sex addiction groups for an agency focused on recovery from sex addiction. She has been licensed since 2000 and is a member of CAMFT and SASH. Meredith Levy, MA

Meredith Levy received her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Los Angeles. Meredith has facilitated addiction groups at private inpatient treatment centers in and around Los Angeles, working extensively with eating disorders, chemical dependency, and dual diagnosis. Meredith frequently counsels teens, and is interested in sexual compulsivity within the adolescent population. Meredith is a member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Heath (SASH), CA Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (CAMFT), Women's Association for Addiction Treatment (WAAT), and National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).
